Abstract: Electron microscopy of the $\beta$-hydride phase of Nb showed doman boundaries with $\delta$-fringes arising from the ordering of hydrogen. A diffraction analysis carried out on a single domain resulted in a reciprocal lattice which is identical with the one deduced from neutron diffractlon experiments. The $\beta$-hydride structurein Nb belongs to the orthorhomblc space group $P_{nnn}$ wlth Nb atoms on f (000, 0 $\frac{1}{2} \frac{1}{2}, \frac{1}{2} 0 \frac{1}{2}, \frac{1}{2} \frac{1}{2} 0)$ and H on a $(\frac{1}{4} \frac{1}{4} \frac{1}{4}, \frac{3}{4} \frac{3}{4} \frac{3}{4})$ and b$(\frac{4}{4} \frac{1}{4} \frac{1}{4}, \frac{1}{4} \frac{3}{4} \frac{3}{4})$.
